More crazy rain this evening, but much warmer now. My legs aches from weather changes. Our brother cooked a sumptuous late lunch for us all today, salmon in a wine sauce with fennel and shallots, and roasted parsnips, carrots and potatoes. The sauce was to die for, all his kitchen duties are starting to pay off. His food has always been delicious, but now his cooking technique is so much more professional. So, family dinner with all six of us around the table, very satisfying and great fun. Then I did the clean up while everyone else took a nap.

I want to laugh at the hullabaloo about the female soccer player and her viciousness while playing and how girls are too lady like to want to play like that and how it is ruining the game. I broke my arm when I was 10 after getting taken down from behind on a breakaway. This wasn't even advanced soccer, this happened on a local rec team game. Seriously if they want to see a rough game they need to check their local high school girls team, especially if they're rivals. My last game in high school took place on a completely muddy field and it was bad and fun and we were so high on adrenaline after that game. It was awesome, we of course played cleanly. Really! I never pushed anyone from behind, or pulled their shirts in one of the many mud puddle scrambles for the ball.

So yeah, I just want to laugh at their self righteousness and the whole protect our women bit.

In a much more enjoyable note, here is a really neat article on reading and writing.

Reading is the inhale, writing is the exhale.

Do you guys happen to know of any good, reasonably priced murder mystery dinner party actors to book for a company holiday party? I work for a company with 40 employees, but our budget for our entire party is pretty slim. One idea tossed around was to do a murder mystery party at a restaurant - just hire a couple of actors and get some of our staff involved.
So please lemme know if you know!
Alternatively, it would be super awesome and make my heart sparkle if you could give me some other awesome ideas for a fun holiday party. Apparently, they did karaoke last year and it was a hit, but we're not doing it two years in a row. :*(

Photos from the distinguished Mr. Rupert H. Murgatroyd of the Seattle Steamrats can be found here. You'll see [info]alfrecht and myself in quite a number of them. The site is a slideshow that will show one pic at a time.

I am home again, going to head for the shower and then take drugs and curl up with a book or two... petting them ...

I did see everyone, touched bases, delivered some of the trinkets from China. Had meals, saw Miss Annie get her award, saw the neighbors house that went KABOOM...

also noted that the Union 76 in Silverdale, that the opening the rcpt comes out of looks a lot like the place to put ones gas card... I did get it back out, but still.. they really shouldnt be the exact same size and right next to each other.

Brain, fluffy, Back, not very happy with me at all.
